A call for sites with potential for soft sand extraction has been issued jointly today by West Sussex County Council and the South Downs National Park Authority.
As mineral planning authorities, the two organisations are responsible for planning for an adequate supply of soft sand to support the needs of the economy across a range of industries.
The call for sites is part of the plan-making process, which has just begun for the single-issue review of the recently-adopted West Sussex Joint Minerals Local Plan. The call for sites is open from today (24 August) to 14 September, 2018.
Anyone who has a site they would like to promote for consideration as part of the plan-making process is asked to complete and return forms to the county council.
