Sussex Community’s drive to recruit 100 Healthcare Assistants

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) has launched the next stage of its ongoing recruitment campaign, A Community That Cares.

Community is at the heart of what we do at Sussex Community NHS foundation Trust and we’re looking to boost our teams in key areas which all share the same goal of helping to relieve pressure from other NHS services across the county by reducing hospital admissions and getting patients home quicker.

So far, the campaign has seen a focus on recruiting for Responsive Services, a multidisciplinary team of experts providing care to patients at home; therapists, who help to keep people out of hospital and work toward rehabilitation and wellness and support staff such as administrators, who facilitate the smooth running of all our community teams.

The next stage, is an ambitious drive to recruit 100 healthcare assistants (HCAs) across Sussex who will help to provide much needed care to patients in the their own homes and community hospitals.

The recruitment drive comes after a national announcement in the NHS long term plan which will see an increase in budget for mental health and community services. Our recruitment campaign highlights the excellent training opportunities offered to healthcare assistants and outlines the various ways in which HCAs can progress.
