West Sussex libraries are giving away an iPad

The challenge runs until Saturday 16 September and has a new twist for adults called Read3 – when adults read three books, they are entered into a competition to win an iPad.

Children are being challenged to solve a mystery at their local library with the ‘Animal Agents’ gang.

Each time they complete a book, they receive a clue. After all six books are complete and the mystery is solved, they win a medal.

There are four suspects but children will need to use all their detective skills to work out the clues and solve the crime.

West Sussex Council Council’s Cabinet Member for Safer, Stronger Communities, Debbie Kennard, said: “Research shows that children enjoy reading and do better at it when adults around them read too. So I think that Read3 is a great addition to the Summer Reading Challenge.

“As a parent myself, I’m aware how hard it is to keep children entertained throughout the summer holiday, not to mention the costs it can involve. The challenge is a free, easy and fun way to make sure children continue reading throughout the holiday.”
